On October 9,the Pune police issued a two-page advisory to eateries,malls,theatres and other commercial establishments in Koregaon Park after it came to be known that David Coleman Headley had conducted a recce of the Osho International Meditation Resort and the Chabad House nearby during his stay at the Surya Villa hotel in the locality. The advisory included 23 precautions hotels and lodges should take. German Bakery was among the scores of eateries issued this note,later shared with the media by Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh. On November 30,the police issued another advisory to the same set of establishments in Koregaon Park following the 26/11 anniversary. While most of the points were a repeat of the October 9 note,it was said the police would check whether the establishments were adhering to the guidelines. This time too,German Bakery was a recipient of the advisory. The Police Commissioner told The Indian Express: After Headleys visit came to be known we had issued the note that mentioned that these places have to follow all security measures. I have already distributed the note to the media. Another similar note was issued in November, he said. The note also mentioned steps to be taken in case of abandoned bag or suspicious objects. They should have informed us, he said. German Bakery owner Smita Kharoses daughter Snehal said they had put up security guards at the entrance after the advisories. Even places with all security arrangements such as the Taj in Mumbai faced terror attacks. We did take steps as required. We were trying to get the security gadgets in place.
