The Khar police on Friday took the statement of a Bandra florist who was contacted by model Viveka Babajee to deliver flowers to businessman Gautam Vora on three days before her death. Dev Pandey, who owns Blossoms Blue shop, was called in by the police in the afternoon.

“I was called in by the police for giving my statement. They asked me the dates on which Viveka had ordered flowers to be sent to Vora and some other questions,” Pandey said.

He said Viveka had called up his shop on June 22,23 and 24 and asked for bouquets to be sent to Vora’s residence.

Pandey said the flowers ordered on the three days were different. He refused to comment further, claiming he was bound by client confidentiality. The police also asked him the messages sent with the flowers.

Model Viveka Babajee was found dead at her residence last Friday. The police are yet to record the statements of Viveka’s family, which they claim will be crucial in deciding if a case of abetment can be made. Senior inspector Mangesh Pote from the Khar police said,“We are waiting for them to get done with the funeral rites and rituals after which we would ask them to give statements.”
