“This deployment is made to prevent a recurrence of the terrorist incident of May 25 and September 7, and stop unchecked vehicles and pedestrians approaching the complex,” it read.

The role of the picket personnel would be to check pedestrians approaching the High Court with bags and allow only labelled vehicles to approach the temporary parking areas in the vicinity of the High Court after checking.

“The NDMC shall be requested to erect a fence along both the footpaths of Sher Shah Suri Marg so that pedestrians can be checked and channelised,” the plan, issued from the office of the Joint Commissioner of Police,New Delhi range, stated.
