On Wednesday morning, the Patna airport looked slightly more busy. There was a flurry of activity with hordes of politicians and mediapersons moving around all waiting for BJP patriarch L K Advani who was coming to campaign for the last leg of the six-phase elections in the state. As Advani arrived, waiting to welcome him was national general secretary Ravishankar Prasad. Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi joined them for three scheduled meetings in Naxal-hit Rohtas and Kaimur.
The first destination was Sasaram in Rohtas. Other top BJP leaders state president Dr CP Thakur and minister Nand Kishore Yadav also reached there to meet their senior leader. As just 10 minutes were left for departure,BJP leaders wanted Advani to address the waiting Patna media. After discussing Bihar poll campaign briefly,Advani targeted PM Manmohan Singh on the 2G spectrum scam. It was flight time and Advani,Prasad and Modi boarded the six-seater chopper, bound for Sasaram, where a sizeable crowd was waiting. The BJP nominee Jawahar Prasad is four-time MLA from the seat. Ravishankar Prasad got a big applause when he said he was the lawyer who sent Lalu Prasad to jail in the fodder scam. He talked of a silent revolution that would extinguish the lantern and blow away hut and twist hand (RJD,LJP and Congress symbols respectively). Sushil Modi promised better electricity and irrigation if voted to power. Advani played more of a mentor and educator. With praise on lips for Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi,he talked of simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The BJP leader said: I had long back seen Nitish Kumars prospects of becoming Bihar CM. Advani raised the 2G scam again. At Bhabhua and Nokha, the BJP leaders almost repeated the same script.
