Withdraw candidates from my district: Cong MP to Mamata

Choudhury, who has put up dummy candidates in Jalangi,Sagardighi,Bhagobangola and Hariharpara,is at present campaigning for them

In an embarrassment for the Congress, its MP from Baharampur Adhir Choudhury on Thursday said he has requested Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to withdraw her candidates from four Assembly constituencies of Murshidabad district.

Choudhury, who has put up dummy candidates in Jalangi,Sagardighi,Bhagobangola and Hariharpara,is at present campaigning for them. I dont care for any alliance in my district. It will be wise of Mamatadi if she withdraws her candidates from there. If she does not do that, the Left Front candidates will win, Choudhury, president,Murshidabad district Congress committee said from Baharampur.

Expectedly, the Trinamool Congress has reacted sharply. Is Adhir above Sonia? The electorate in the state is polarised. Mamata Banerjee anyway is coming to Baharampur on April 15 to campaign, said TMC state unit president Subrata Buxi.

The Congress gave a cautious reply. We will see to it that Adhir refrains from acting against the alliance, said Shaqueel Ahmed,AICC observer for West Bengal.
