A one-day workshop on cyber security was organised by Department Of Applied Mathematics of Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) on Tuesday.
While inaugurating the function,Professor L M Patnaik,Vice-Chancellor of DIAT expressed his views and concern over the subject of cyber crimes. The inaugural function was presided over by Dr P S Goel,chairman,RAC,DRDO HQ,New Delhi. Goel expressed his views on the subject matter and said,DIAT can take initiatives to start a training programme of M Tech level on cyber security and related aspects to train our own people to deal with the threat of cyber crimes. He further extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the workshop.
Dr K D Nayak,CC R and D (MED and MIST),DRDO HQ,New Delhi,gave a presentation on the subject of cyber crime. He talked on growing complexity of Internet and various technological reasons behind increasing number of cyber crimes and probable remedies to reduce them.
Other important invitees included dignitaries from various fields who delivered lectures on cyber crime related topics. Fifty participants from IT Industry,educational institutions,including research fellows of DIAT took part in the work shop. Professor MizajiLal,HOD,Department of Computer Engineering,DIAT (DU) welcomed the dignitaries. Professor Madhav Kuber proposed the vote of thanks. Professor R N Prahlad,HOD,Department of Applied Mathematics was the convener of the workshop.
