A new book on preventing spinal pain through yoga promises to be of immense help for long-suffering patients

Today, the number of people suffering from back pain is increasing as if in geometric progression, courtesy a sedentary lifestyle. Where surgical methods either fail to provide permanent relief or are way beyond the budget of the common man, S M Acharya has come up with his book Say No to Back Pain.

The book talks about natural ways of providing permanent relief from all kinds of backaches and spinal pains. Instinct therapy or ATBSNR (Acharya Technique for Backache and Spinal and Nervous Rejuvenation) is a set of easy-to-do exercises which help put the spinal cord into perfect shape and balance. If done regularly, they promise a healthy life sans any backaches.

The author himself suffered from chronic backaches, slip disc pains, knee pains and cervical spondylosis for a long time. After treatments by senior orthopedics and alternative therapies failed to cure him, Acharya devised ATBSNR, which can be done sitting or lying down and are inspired by the instinctive movements of birds and animals, which the author has carefully observed over the years.

The book not only has the author explaining the nuances of the instinct therapy, but also relates several cases and testimonials wherein many acute cases have been cured through these exercises. In the book, Acharya has talked about how these non-strenuous three-minute exercises stimulate the yogic charkas located in the spine, along with the kundalini, and help patients reap the benefits of yoga.

A 190-page book, it promotes the idea that practicing Acharya's simple exercises on a regular basis, combined with a healthy, low-fat, vegetarian diet and plenty of water intake, can not only cure but also prevent diseases like osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, spondylosis, slip discs and many other spinal problems.
