As the President,Human Resource Development,of Yes Bank,Rajnish Dutta holds crisis meetings, makes teams and assigns them specific areas on a routine basis. Over the past two days,he has used these skills to hunt for his brother.
Younger brother Manish has been missing for two days now. The 40-year-old IT executive, who is married and has a five-year-old child, was last seen when he came out of his office in Udyog Vihar.
A complaint was filed with the Sadar police station,Gurgaon,on Sunday. With the police finding no leads 24 hours later,Rajnish has decided to conduct the search as he knows best.
A resident of Hamilton Court in DLF Phase-IV of Gurgaon,he has prepared maps of the areas where his missing brother could have been, based on his call records. He has also conducted meetings and formed teams of bank employees for separate areas, with instructions to submit timely progress reports.
More than 10 executives of the bank came to meet Rajnish while he was visiting the Sadar police station on Monday.
He gave them a brief background of his missing brother and drew a rough sketch of the areas where Manishs mobile phone was tracked to.
Teams of four to five were formed and allocated different areas, from Islampur to Badshahpur to Gurgaons Rajiv Chowk. One person was also made in-charge of collaborating with various teams. Hundreds of leaflets were distributed,to be pasted by the teams at various locations as they interview people looking for leads.
Rajnish believes his brother has been kidnapped, and that his profile as a former employee of several top companies may have prompted the crime. He was such a sober person. He did not talk to anybody in the office and just worked. His phone too has been ringing and we have tracked it to the periphery of Islampur and Badshapur area, says Rajnish.
Criticising the police for doing little,he says: The family has been running around for the past two days and now with the help of some of our colleagues,we are trying to search for him ourselves.
While it has been only a day since the probe was instituted, the family says the police investigation has so far been disappointing.
The search parties have been visiting areas that Manish used to pass through on a daily basis, and questioning everybody from auto drivers and guards to vendors.
We have also got call records from Manishs service provider on our own when it should have been done by the police, said a close associate of the family.
Denying the charges, police said they were investigating the matter. We are following whatever information we have with us, said Alok Kumar Mittal,Joint Commissioner of Police.
