A Cut Above

Designer sisters Gauri and Nainika Karan have pitched the fashion tent at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai with their collection La Beauté Rouge being unveiled at the Lakme Fashion Week on Monday. The collection is marked by the designers’ trademark silhouettes and is largely in black and white,with a touch of red thrown to lend vibrancy. This is also the first time the Delhi-based designers are showing at LFW. “It’s a very classic line with simple and clean cuts. This time,the hemlines on the dresses have gone much shorter though we have also thrown in some gowns. It’s all very feminine and glamourous,” says Gauri Karan who roped in actress Deepika Padukone to walk the ramp.
