“Students keep coming and going every three to six months but the flat is always full. The spirit of Ameerpet is, after you’ve done your course, you help newcomers find a proper institute and make way for them in the flat. The cycle continues. Institutes and house owners don’t need to publicise, with thousands of students coming and going, word of mouth works a lot,” Bhaskar Reddy, who is pursuing Oracle at Unimatics, says.
Institutes are not transparent about their placement policies but many students end up as part-time instructors in Ameerpet itself. Some head for Madhapar, the IT hub on the outskirts of Hyderabad, or Bangalore in search of their dream job.
