  • The UN nuclear watchdog has asked Iran to explain evidence that it has carried out experiments with highly advanced nuclear warhead design.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) believes Iranian scientists may have tested high explosive components of a device called "two-point implosion", the British newspaper the Guardian reported.

This technology would allow Iran capability to produce smaller and simpler warheads as this device is used to reduce the diameter of warheads and make it easier to mount it on a missile, the paper said.

Documents relating to experimentation using these device are part of the evidence of Iran's nuclear weaponisation gathered by the IAEA and presented to Tehran for its response.

"It is breathtaking that Iran could be working on this sort of material," the paper quoted a European government adviser on nuclear issues as saying.

A British nuclear expert James Acton said that Iran before perfecting step one is "going straight to step four or five...to start with more sophisticated design."

Another Western nuclear specialist said, "It raises a question who supplied this to them. Did A Q Khan has access to this or is it another player?"

The existence of "two-point implosion" device technology is officially secret in both the US and Britain, the Guardian said.

The strides made by Iran's nuclear programme come amid widespread fear among Western power that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, something which Tehran denies.

Iran and Western powers are currently engaged in negotiations how to procure nuclear fuel for civilian energy use by Tehran.

    ... contd.

Iran may have experimented with nuclear warhead designBy: Rohit Kumar | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Iran has not attacked any country in the past 500 years. It was brtually attacked by the foregin powers so many times. Its democoratically elected government in 1953 were thrown by CIA and Mossad and installed Shah upon the people for 20 years. Iran stated that the Zionit Regime will crumble. This is not a threat. Israel threatens Iran every two to three days. Iran is facing the most henious sanctions in the history of mankind. A recent gallup poll from American company stated that 70% of the people will vote to the current President if the elctions are held today. The opposition part is far hard on nuclear issue than the current president. The people who are suggesting to attack Iran should consider the damage it will bring to Indian economy. Iran will convert the passages of oil into fireball. The collapse of Indian economy is imminent. Those who support Israel should migrate to Israel. Poor Indians make millions from Moslem countries.
A monster SnakeBy: Joseph | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Sir, How can you tame a monster snake? By talks? By treating them as equals ? Giving them special status ? A regime that came to power by peoples power and uses the gun to kill the same people will not be afraid to do anything. Are we courting a great disaster by the way of new engagement policy of Ameriaca, Europe and friendly China and Russia. It is going to be dreadful with this monsters gaining nuclear arms. China is day dreaming Iran will be a friend. Good luck world.
