The news of a special court in Ghaziabad fixing the date of execution of Surinder Koli, sentenced to death in a Nithari serial killings case, provided the victims families a sense of closure after four long years.
The mother of Rimpa Halder (14),who went missing near the infamous D-5 house in Nithari village,is yet to come to terms with the death of her daughter.
It is the worst fate for a mother… to find her daughter gone, said Asha,a friend to Rimpas mother Dolly.
It is time that justice is done. This order will give us something to feel better about, but the real punishment should be given to the man under whose roof my daughter was slaughtered, said Lakshmi, mother of another victim,Rachna Lal.
Rachnas father Jhampu Lal is at his native village for the wedding of his other daughter. Ram Gopal, who is managing Lals laundry shop in his absence, said Jhampu will have another reason to celebrate when he returns.
About the time taken for the final order,a local resident Charan Singh Kan,said: The order has come in the due course of time. It is the way the system works.
His neighbours,Raman and Rajan, said despite the judgment the sense of loss will always be there.
