A shoppers’ paradise

  • Most of the shopkeepers who had set up small shops in the initial years have purchased houses to expand their shops and later new buyers also came in. A 35 square yards house can easily be converted into 2-3 shops and hence shopkeepers don’t mind paying much because the sale response is huge.

Ram Lal, a senior citizen of the area, said, “The whole demography of the area has changed. People are minting money by doing gross building violations but the MC is not bothered.”

With wide roads having become narrow due to encroachments, the civic conditions in the area have also deteriorated. No one questions where the funds have been spent.
