Is it true that Aamir takes over the directorial reins while acting in a film?
When Aamir saw the Tamil version he did say that the climax needed to be changed, something we both discussed before making the changes. Otherwise he would only give his inputs if I asked him. I had to consult him at times, as the culture and language were new to me. But I liked his suggestions, as he is a very intelligent person.
How appropriate is anger and violence as a solution to situations, as shown in Ghajini?
See, even I think that anger and violence are no solutions to any issue. But Ghajini is only a film, an entertainer. The audience should not take it seriously.
What has been the response of the Mumbai filmmakers to Ghajini’s success?
No filmmaker has called me, but I understand that I don’t know anyone here. But my crew and cast who have watched the film in theatres said that they loved the film and congratulated me.
What are you making next?
All my four Tamil films have done very well in the South, but since I have got such a good response to Ghajini, I would now like to make another Hindi film. This time round I want to make a romantic thriller.
Which Hindi film actors are on your wish-list?
Amongst the heroines I am a big fan of Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor, and from the males it is Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. But of course the casting of a film will go according to the script.
