  • For the first time in Gujarat, air-conditioned tents will be erected for spectators at the Reliance Stadium for the one-day international match to be played between India and Australia on October 25.

According to Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) members, two tents named Vijay Hazare and D K Gaekwad will be made air-conditioned.

“Never in the history of Gujarat cricket, air-conditioned tents have been erected. We will be replicating the Vibrant Gujarat model for the match,” BCA vice-president Sanjay Patel told Newsline. There will be about 450 seats in these tents and the ticket price for the same will be Rs 7,000.

Patel said that the BCA signed in-stadia advertisement contracts worth Rs 1.63 crore on Tuesday.

“We have also arranged for the pick up and drop service for the senior BCA members. There will be about eight help desks for them in different parts of the city. At each desk, students from Maharaja Sayajirao University’s BBA course will assist them,” he said.

He further said the board has decided to provide 800 tickets to 55 schools in the city for Rs 300 instead of its actual price of Rs 800. “We will also be giving plastic tickets with barcode in certain categories,” he added.
