Accused in Dalit boy murder case arrested

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A man,who allegedly shot an 11-year-old Dalit boy for refusing to wash plates at a roadside eatery in neighbouring Shamli district three days ago,has been arrested. The accused,Jagpal,was arrested Friday from Shamli railway station and the weapon used in the crime has also been recovered,Superintendent of Police Abdul Hameed said Saturday.

FIRs lodged against BJP leader

BALLIA: Two separate FIRs were lodged against former Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP leader Bharat Singh Saturday for allegedly beating a local Congress leader and a local scribe and giving death threats to them,police said.
