The Additional Commissioner of Police,Range II,Shamsher Singh has ordered a probe in the case of attempted suicide by a college student,a few days ago. The Limbayat police had charged the youth of indecent behaviour.

According to the details of the case, the Limbayat police had raided a complex in the Dindoli area on a tip-off and had caught Rajesh Patil (21),a college student and his classmate from the parking in Rajesh’s house,on August 17. The two were released on bail the next day. Rajesh attempted suicide at his home the day later and was immediately rushed to the Nirmal Hospital for treatment, where his condition is still said to be critical.

The parents of Rajesh then made a representation to the police commissioner that Limbayat police had falsely implicated his son in a case, which forced him to take such an extreme step. The boy’s father alleged that the police had made a false case as his son and his classmate were doing lessons in the house.

Additional Commissioner of Police,Range II,Shamsher Singh then instructed Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 1 Siddharth Khatri to carry out a probe in the incident and find out the facts. On Monday, the police took the statements of the girl and her parents, who said that their daughter had gone to Rajesh’s place for study. The two were speaking in the parking before leaving the house, when the police caught them, they said. Shamsher Singh said: “We have not come to any conclusion as the case is still under investigation. We have recorded the statements of the parents of the boy and the girl. We will take strict action against those involved in the case.”

Apparently on Sunday night,Rajesh’s condition deteriorated and he became unconscious. His parents misunderstood the doctor’s words and in the belief that they had lost their child, made preparations for his funeral on Monday morning, but were told by the doctor that the patient was unconscious, but alive.
