The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) registered a case against ACP Dhanraj Vanjari and two other policemen on Friday for alleged misappropriation of crores of rupees. Sources said Vanjari, part of the Naigaon unit of the local arms division, allegedly committed the offence when he was on a committee assigned the job of purchasing space for a new Maharashtra Police Welfare Society office. ACB officers said he submitted a report showing increased office space and got additional funds sanctioned. The money was allegedly transferred to the account of his son. An officer said Vanjari was under the ACB scanner for months. After completing inquiries, the bureau registered a case against him and an inspector and constable.
