Actor’s driver decamps with her hubby’s car

The driver,Raju,was hired this month,and was not registered with the police. Parihar does not even have any details about his identity or whereabouts,making it difficult for the police to trace him. The Oshiwara police,meanwhile,have registered a case of theft and are trying to locate Raju.

“Raju was hired on July 1 on the recommendation of their watchman,” said Police Inspector D Sankhe of the Oshiwara police. “Parihar’s husband had just got the car from his office and had driven it down from Bangalore. He had left for Turkey recently. On the day of the theft,Parihar gave the keys of the Innova and another car to the driver and asked him to clean them. But he disappeared with the Innova,” he said.

Asked if Raju could be a member of a gang,Sankhe said,“We don’t think so yet. Our job has been made very difficult as we don’t have any identification of him or even a copy of his licence. He had told Parihar that his licence was with someone and that he would give it to her. Even questioning the watchman was of no avail as he didn’t know Raju and just heard that he was looking for a job as a driver. He had taken him to Parihar as she had asked him to look for a driver.” We have laid traps for him at places where we expect him to go,he said.
