Aditya Sharma was right on target as he scored 370 out of 400 to win the .177 Peep Sight air rifle (NR) junior men in the 14th Chandigarh State Inter School shooting championship held at St Joseph's School, Sector 44, on Saturday. Participants from more than 17 schools from the tricity took part in the championship.
Meanwhile, Parwar Vishay Singh's effort paid odd as he won the .177 Air Pistol (NR) sub jumior men title. He scored 336 out of 400 to finish on top.
In the .177 Air Pistol (NR) sub junior women section, Anushka Tayal won the gold with a score of 336 out of 400.
Gauri was also on target as she claimed the .177 Air Pistol (ISSF) junior women title with a score of 321 out of 400. Mankaran Preet Singh also hit the bull's eye when he won the .177 Air Pistol (NR) sub junior men title after returning with a score of 358 out of 400.
Then, Rimsha Anwar lit up the day with another fine performance as she clinched the .177 Air Pistol (NR) junior women title with a score of 320 out of 400.
Kabaddi trials on Sept 25
Chandigarh:Trials would be held on September 25 at Pau Ludhiana for the selection of the Indian circle style kabaddi team for Asia Kabaddi Cup Lahore, Dubai International Kabaddi Cup and World Cup Kabaddi Punjab. According to the information received, dope tests are compulsory for all the selected players after trials. The selected players would represent the Indian team in Asia Cup Lahore (October 27-31), Dubai International Kabaddi Cup (November) and World Cup Kabaddi, Punjab (December 1-15). Once the final selection of the team is made, there will not be any changes in the selection at any stage. The players are requested to bring passport size photographs, original/self-attested photocopies of academic/sports certificates, passport, date of birth certificate and proof of Indian citizenship.
