Like father, like son. Teenager Adiya Patel has it in his blood. His father Kamlesh Patel was both a racer and a rally driver of repute. So when Aditya made it to the podium to lift the Formula Rolon Cup in the JK Tyre National Racing Championship at the Motor Sport Track here today, no one was surprised.

Egged on by a holiday crowd Aditya not only had to beat the challenge from both Saran Vikram and seasoned Sarosh Hataria, but also the track heat that soared to touch 60 degrees Celsius by the time his turn came.

With Ashwin Sundar having sealed the titles in both Formula Swift and Formula LGB Hyundai categories, the crowd grew restless when it sighted Aditya, starting second on the grid. Aditya took lead at the first bend but came second in the first race and then won in the second. That is all he had to do to bag the title.

In the second race, too, Aditya celebrated his win taking the chequered flag. Saran finished second while J D Madan of Gemini Racing finished third. However, the Formula Hyundai first race was a clean sweep for Team Gemini Racing Rayomand Banajee, Anand Prasad and Shankar Narayanan finished in that order.
