Indian Railways has decided to make available tickets for the Pakistan-bound Samjhauta Express fifteen days in advance, instead of the usual practice of booking tickets on the day of departure.
Besides Delhi, tickets for the train will be available in seven other cities, chief PRO of Northern Railways Rajiv Saxena said on Friday.
“These measures have been taken keeping in mind the interest of passengers,” he said. “It will ease the rush in Delhi on the day of departure and also allow people to plan their journey in advance,” Saxena explained.
Specific counters have been designated for the sale of tickets for the Samjhauta Express in Allahabad, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Kanpur and Amritsar. The passengers will get two tickets for the journey—one till Attari on the Indian border and the other for destinations in Pakistan, including Lahore. The changes have been incorporated following the terror attack on the train on Sunday.
