Having campaigned in 95 constituencies all over the country,BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani finally came to Gujarat to campaign in his own constituency on Sunday.

The campaign began with a road show in the Ranip area in the evening, which has recently been included in the limits of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. Advani and his family arrived an hour behind scheduled, but by that time, party workers had made it sure that the right environment was built to ‘kick-start’ (all on their bikes fitted with party flags) the campaign.

The 3-km long journey, which began from a party worker’s house at Radha Soamy Beas, culminated in a public meeting at Vyaswadi.

On his arrival,Advani delivered a short speech, informing the gathering that now he would be in his Gandhinagar constituency till polling on April 30 and request the voters to give the BJP their mandate.

“I believe this election will not just change the government, but it will also change the future of this country,” Advani told a cheering crowd of party workers and bystanders who came out of their houses, curious. He said the BJP manifesto titled Sushasan–Vikas–Suraksha (good governance, development and security) was received well by voters all over India.

Advani once again spoke on the black money issue and said he had heard only recently that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had promised to bring back the black money in 100 days if the Congress came to power. “But this happened not before Ram Jethmalani filed a PIL in the Supreme Court and at a time when the whole country, including Baba Ramdev,is talking about it,” he said.

Estimating the black money to be to the tune of Rs 25 lakh crore (BJP advertisements estimate it at Rs75 lakh crore),Advani believes this can transform India and help the country get the top slot in the world.
