New Delhi: : BJP leader L K Advani has taken up with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh “the delay” over the announcement on the Amarnath package that the J-K Governor’s four-member panel is believed to have hammered out in their talks with the Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti representatives last week.

It was during a meeting on information commissioners at South Block on August 27 that Advani is believed to have broached the issue with Singh. He is learnt to have asked the PM the “reasons on the delay in an announcement on the relief” from the Governor “when the talks between the SASS representatives and the Governor’s panel were reported to have been smooth”. He is also believed to have discussed the perception that the “State Governor was awaiting a clearance from the Centre”.
