Fresh charges on Purohit; Cong, BJP trade charges

Nashik, November 18:: Fresh charges were on Tuesday slapped on Malegaon blast prime accused Lt Col S P Purohit who was taken into custody by the Pune Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for alleged cheating and submission of fake documents.

Purohit, 36, working with Military Intelligence, was produced before a Nashik court where the Mumbai ATS sought his judicial custody, which was granted till November 29.

However, the Pune ATS moved an application seeking the Army officer's custody in another case registered with them.

Purohit was arrested earlier this month in connection with the September 29 Malegaon blast that killed six and injured 80.

He is among ten including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur arrested for their alleged role in the blast. Pune ATS officials informed the court that a case under sections 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 474 (having possession of documents described in section 467) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been filed against Purohit.

They also submitted an order from a Pune court regarding his arrest. Purohit, who has been subjected to brain mapping and narco analysis tests, is being probed by the Mumbai ATS for possible links with last year's twin explosions in Samjhauta Express train that left 68 dead.

The Army officer is also alleged to have conducted an arms and explosives training camp for members of a little known right wing group Abhinav Bharat.

’INTROSPECT ON MALEGAON BLAST’

Amritsar: Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today asked the BJP to introspect on the links between the Malegaon blast suspects and its affiliates and said the Government was doing a good job in containing terrorism.

"BJP should have a look into the links which the Malegaon accused have with the party," Gandhi said at a press conference here to announce the schedule of the organisational elections to the Indian Youth Congress in Punjab.

Replying to a question on the allegations of BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani that Congress was "politicising" terror, he said, "I have no response".

"Advaniji has the view that the Congress is politicising terror. May be the BJP should take a look into what it does," Gandhi, who was in a rarely combative mood, said.

Asked about the remarks of BJP President Rajnath Singh that he was a "bachcha" (child) in politics, Gandhi candidly admitted that he indeed was a 'bachcha'.

At least Election Commission should instruct the political parties not to take an issue under investigation to the political gain. They should be clear instruction not to mention these kind of issues to public for rally for election. It seems ordinary Indians problem is not the basic needs but ATS and Jihadi. Politicians are going away from the basic problems of an ordinary people.

Media is the new "Archimedes" ..Eureka We have found "Hinudu Terrorism" It is well known that the media is owned by big industrialist who in turn have their own loyalities. ATS represent the same species, many of memebers of this species are already on payroll of D Gang (and the ISI so as to speak) IB gave evidence of 85 police officers of Mumbai Police being in contact and on payrol of D Gang and its clones. ATS go and clean up your cupboard before you attempt to unwind the "Hindu terrorism" that you have discovered. Many of the leads must have come from the real jihadis(I am 100% sure). Else we all know how efficient the ATS and the Mumbai police or the police in general is.ATS is following Madams game plan to steal the vote banks from the various offshots and clones of Congress. Hinudus in general aer coward and law abiding (except a minority of criminals and goones -the one in parliament included) . MEdia be careful, do not awake a monster..and that too a coward monster.

nobody wants to say anything about muslim terrorists acts everywhere against innocientpeople. it seems their attacks have been convineantly forgotten. indian politicians will have to have foresight and show courage if they want to save the country from distruction. hindus are peace loving people, in general. they will have to hit back and not be on the receiving end and at the mercy of coward politicians.

everyday we are reading news regarding Col purohit and others reguarding.This is not desireable at all. There should not be any news in the paper till the case is completely investigated and submitted to the trial court. This is creating unnecessary hopes and disaapintments in the minds of the people. News in bit is not desireable

Thats not true, You were waiting whether ATS has solid proof against pragya, so that you can disown her and now when you found that ATS does not have solid proof now you want to gain political mileage by supporting her. My dear Advani, I agree you have hard core experience but I will not buy your story. I don't know whether pragya is a terrorist or not, but I am sure that you are not less anybody. You are the one to spread hatred between hindus and muslims. You are the one who for mere political power destroyed the present and future of our country. Let ATS do its job, if the accused are innocent they will be acquitted and if guilty will be punished. Jai Hind
