Expressing dissatisfaction over lax implementation of waiver of affidavits and attestation,Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Wednesday deputy commissioners would have to take personal interest in implementation of these decisions in true spirit. Addressing a meeting of all DCs,he said the number of affidavits and attestations in most districts had not dropped by more than 20 per cent. He asked the chief secretary to advertise in media regarding compulsory affidavits and waiver of attestation by gazetted officers. Expressing satisfaction over progress of computerization of land records in all districts,he directed the DCs to intensify surprise checks at government offices,schools,dispensaries,hospitals and ration depots to ensure punctuality of government staff,besides effective delivery of services to citizens. He took exception to departments not taking action against employees found absent during raids. It was also decided to introduce roaster system for employees having two or three charges so that they could not feign presence in other centre at the time of raid.
