  • Just a week later after the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) had promised professionalism in running the sport, the venue of the under-20 Federation Cup has been changed just three weeks before the event.

The Fed Cup competition, which was originally slated to be held in Karim Nagar, Andhra Pradesh from May 22 to 24, has been shifted to Pune.

“Going such a long distance without proper reservation is worrying some players because this is the peak summer travel season. It can effect performance,” said one of the athletes.

The women are in a camp in Kerala while the men are training in Jamshedpur. But AFI secretary Lalit Bhanot said: “We are not compromising on dates. So it wouldn’t affect either in training or travel plans,” he said.
