All-rounder Shahid Afridi,who after guiding Pakistan to the World Twenty20 title in Sundays final is now most likely to succeed Younis Khan as the T20 skipper after the latter announced his retirement from Twenty20 internationals.

For the time being Shoaib Malik is ruled out of contention for captaincy at any level and the way Afridi has performed and handled new-found responsibilities as a senior player,he is certain to become the Pakistan captain for T20 cricket, one Pakistan board official said.

ICC conducts dope test

The International Cricket Council conducted a surprise dope test on Afridi after Sundays final where he was declared the Man of the Match. The dope test is believed to be part of ICCs routine practice under which any cricketer could be called for such a test during ICC events.
