After a year’s delay, CCTV project likely to be completed by April-end

  • According to senior police officials, the CCTVs shall not only be helpful in monitoring the traffic flow but subsequently could also be used to detect traffic violations and capturing images of erring drivers, who otherwise manage to escape after a hit-and-run case, particularly in the wee hours.

    In October last year, the Administration had invited tenders for the multi-crore project and in November, three companies including HCL, Zicom and Spanco Telesystems and Solutions Limited came forward and expressed interest in bagging the project. The final name is likely to be finalised by the weekend.
