Ludhiana range DIG Dr Sharad Satya Chauhan nurtures an art which not all of us can because being a writer is a different ball game. Besides being a top cop, Dr Chauhan is has four books to his credit. Presently, doing his Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph D) from the Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, this 1992-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer is also an MBBS doctor.
"For now my entire focus is completing my doctorate. My job, obviously, tops my priority. Once my Ph.D is complete, I plan to write a book which will deal with the feelings of a common man about the administration and the problems being faced by the commoners," says Dr Chauhan.
The four books DIG Chauhan has penned so far include 'War on Iraq', The Al Queda Threat (both these books published 2003), 'Biological Weapons' and 'Inside CIA Lessons in Intelligence' (both published in 2004). All these books were published by the APH Publications, New Delhi. "My four books are somehow connected with policing but I also plan to write books on other topics," he beams.
On being asked that how does he steal time to write amidst professional commitments, Dr Chauhan said, "Since my school and college days, I have been fond of reading and writing. During my early service years in the police, I used to be very busy discharging my official duties but now I have reached at such a position that work has become a bit relaxed and I can spare more time to pursue my hobby," says Dr Chauhan.
