  • After triggering a storm by questioning the circumstances that led to the killing of Maharasthra ATS chief Hemant Karkare and thereby forcing the Government to come out with a statement, Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay is presently cooling his heels at his home in Maharashtra. Antulay left for Mumbai after the Parliament session got over and is in no mood to return to the Capital. He did not attend the Cabinet meeting on Friday and his aides say the 80-year-old minister has been advised by his doctors to avoid the bone-chilling Delhi winter because of health reasons.

Our doddering politiciansBy: Arnab M | 05-Jan-2009 Reply | Forward 80 years of age!!!!Why are we forced to bear with doddering, geriatric old geezers at the helm of affairs in this country???In corporates, even top notch executives, still in good health, have to let go of the reigns when they reach retirement age. Why can our venal political masters of the universe be forced to relinquish all posts (and other perks like palatial bungalows, etc) on the day they reach 58 year of age?
