In the backdrop of the spiralling controversy over National Conference worker Syed Mohd Yousuf,Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday met Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan. Omars political adviser said the meeting, that lasted more than 30 minutes, was routine and had nothing to do with the custodial death of Yousuf.

The Omar government had on Friday sent a report on Yousufs custodial death to the Governor, after he had sought the same. Sources told The Indian Express that the report sent to Vohra describes the circumstances which led to Yousufs death in police custody on September 30. Much of the report, sources said,is basically the findings of the preliminary postmortem report that mentioned the cause of death as cardio-respiratory arrest.

The report sent to the Governor also lists details of the alleged money transactions between Mohammad Yousuf Bhat of Ganderbal, the constituency representative of Omar who has since been sacked, and Yousuf.

Talib told The Sunday Express over phone from his native village Loktipora in South Kashmir: The Station House Officer visited our house and asked me if we feel any kind of threat…. We told him we are living among our own people and do not need any security.

While the family had earlier been living at Kadlabal Pampore, they have moved to native village Loktipora, near Anantnag, since Yousufs death.

Talib also said that officials of a central agency had visited their house and spoken to them at length on the death of Yousuf. They were members from a central agency; they did not disclose their names, said Talib.
