A sulking Azam Khan maintained silence over his interaction on Friday with CM Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow.
Khan, known for his oratory skills, preferred to read a written statement for the first time in his life during an interaction with mediapersons at Jauhar University in Rampur Saturday.
He was asked by Samajwadi Partys national general secretary Ramgopal Yadav to resign after he skipped the national executive meeting at Agra.
Khan was placated by Akhilesh, who paid a visit to his residence in Lucknow on Friday.
Earlier, party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had also tried to calm his anger, saying Khan could never get angry with him.
On Saturday morning,Khan met DM,Rampur,N K S Chauhan and Divisional Commissioner,Moradabad,Shiv Shanker Singh at his residence. In the afternoon,he went to Jauhar University and called a press meet.
At the meet,Azam took out a piece of paper and started reading out a written statement. When asked about it,Azam remarked,Haalat hi kuch aisey hai (Situation is like this only).
In his written statement,Azam said,Tomorrow the CM is visiting Muzaffarnagar and I appeal to everyone for showing patience and presenting their woes without fear. There should not be any misunderstanding. The relations that have been soured are due to fascist forces. Ointment can be applied on wounds which are visible but we have to heal up the invisible wounds. Everyone should develop endurance in oneself and respect others culture, family, religion,as India is the country of everyone. We need to develop harmony else it is everyones loss.
