An inquiry committee of Air India has chargesheeted all four employees involved in the mid-air scuffle on its October 3 flight. Airhostess Komal Singh, who had levelled molestation charges against two pilots, has also been chargesheeted. She has been issued a chargesheet for violation of conduct rule and for not complying with the company policy, an Air India spokesperson said on Thursday. An official of the airline said she had been punished for speaking to the media against company policies. She has also been accused of insubordination and disobeying seniors, he said. The committee was formed on October 6 to investigate the mid-air scuffle between co-pilot Aditya Chopra and flight purser Amit Khanna onboard a Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi flight IC 884. The five-member panel is headed by a senior woman and included the member of an NGO. Singh had lodged an FIR against the pilots, alleging molestation in the cockpit. Purser Amit Khanna, who got into a scuffle with Commander Ranbir Arora and co-pilot Aditya Chopra, has also been chargesheeted by the committee. The National Commission for Women (NCW) which is also investigating the allegations of the airhostess, meanwhile,is apparently drawing a different conclusion. While its report is yet to be compiled, officials indicated that Singh was not on the wrong side. She was called inside to make an announcement and did not do anything wrong, said an official. Though the pilots have been giving other reasons, they do feel bad for what had happened. Earlier in the day,Singh had submitted the chargesheet to the NCW officials. The Air India chargesheet against the airhostess is yet to be examined, the official said, but it would not affect the report. So far,the NCW officials have questioned the pilots, the airhostess and a passenger. A lot depends on the passengers statement, the official added. The-five member NCW panel, which is inquiring into the allegations,is headed by Commission member Wansuk Syem, former District Judge Jagan Nath, lawyer Kunwarjeet Sigh,Manorama Bawa and Mohinder Singh Malik. Their report is expected to be ready by next week.
