  • With the increasing competition in the aviation industry making Air India employees a much sought after commodity, the country’s national carrier is contemplating a hike in the wages by 15-20 per cent in the proposed wage revision which has been pending since 1996.

‘‘The airline is in talks with representatives of pilots, cabin crew and airport technicians for a proposed 10-year wage settlement. The talks are in advance stage and we expect to arrive at a decision in the coming few days,’’ a senior Air India official said.
