The Air India is finally limping back to normalcy with all its domestic flights operating today.
On Thursday Air India cleared the backlog of 160 passengers stranded in Port Blair by sending a special Kolkata-Port Blair flight.
“All scheduled flights have started operating. We have resumed sale of tickets, which had been suspended for the last three days,” said Soumik Bhattacharya, Air India spokesperson.
Several complaints are, however, coming in from passengers who have not yet received the endorsement of the amount they have spent in getting accommodation in Port Blair.
“We were running short of money in Port Blair since our flight could not land at the airport for four consecutive days. So we had announced at the airport that we will endorse the amount spent by the passengers after they return to Kolkata. But to claim the endorsement they have to collect the endorsement voucher from the Port Blair airport,” said a senior Air India official.
“In case they are not able to collect the endorsement voucher, they can contact the officials at the airport counters of Air India with proper documents and boarding pass. We will look into the matter,” he added. Passengers who are not comfortable with the rescheduled bookings may cancel their tickets. The money will be refunded, he added.
Senior officials of Air India were present at several airports of the country to meet and greet departing and arriving passengers who have been inconvenienced due to the strike by executive pilots in the last five days. As a gesture of goodwill, the passengers were presented roses, while being offered apologies on behalf of the airlines.
