A day after AIIMS reinstated the resident doctor who was accused of molesting an eight-year-old boy,the lawyer of the child’s father said the family would file a complaint against the Investigating Officer (IO) for “biased investigations”.

Speaking to Newsline,Satish Sharma, lawyer for the boy’s family, said,“It is clear that AIIMS has reinstated Dr Shejoy Joshua on the basis of preliminary police investigations,so we are filing a complaint against the IO.”

The family had moved a metropolitan magistrate court in Saket on March 13,alleging irregularities in the police probe. The case was dismissed as the boy’s statement had already been recorded before the station house officer of Hauz Khas.

The boy’s father said he would be filing complaints to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) and at AIIMS. “I will draft a complaint after consulting my lawyer, asking how Dr Joshua was reinstated before the case closure report,” he said.

Police sources said a formal closure report in the case would be filed soon after Dr Joshua’s narcoanalysis test was completed.

“The test is scheduled for July 18. We expect to file the closure report in another month,” a police official said.

Dr Joshua, who resumed work at AIIMS on Friday, said he did not wish to comment on the development.
