Lucky loser Aishwarya Aggarwal scored an upset win over top seed Nupur Paul 6-0, 6-0 in the women's singles first round match of the AITA Ranking Tennis Tournament being hosted by the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association on Monday.

Aggarwal claimed the first frame easily with a margin of 6-0 before claiming the second frame with an identical margin. In another match in the same category, Padmapriya of Karnataka ended the challenge of Monica Sangani of Gujarat with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Padmapriya claimed the first set easily with a margin of 6-1 before claiming the second set with a margin of 6-0. In another match, Likhita Shetty ended the challenge of eighth seed tanvi Gupta of Delhi with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Shetty claimed the first set easily with a margin of 6-2 before claiming the second set with a margin of 6-0.

In another match of the same category, Jeni Patel of Gujarat scored a narrow 6-4, 6-3 win over Jannesh Kaur. Patel claimed the first set with a margin of 6-4 before claiming the second set with a margin of 6-3.It was easy going for qualifier Sowjanya Bavisetti as she ended the challenge of UP qualifier Amreen Chaudhary with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
