The Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) will conduct AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament from July 13. The qualifying matches of this event will be held on July 11 and 12. Competitions will be held in the Under-12 and Under-14 categories.In the Under-14 boys' category, 53 players have signed in for the qualifying and 27 players have signed in the U-12 category. There will be no qualifying for both girls' events. The following players have been awarded wild card for the main draw: Boys: Under-12: Karandeep Singh, Adhhayan, Kabir Manrai, Nihit Rawal; Boys : U-14 : Ayush Joshi, Sean Yip, Shrey Gupta and Rahul Seth.

Sports awards function on July 14
Patiala: The Punjabi University Sports Department is organising the annual sports prize distribution function for academic year 2008-09 on July 14 at 11 am at the university's science auditorium. Rajkumar Sharma, director sports informed that vice-chancellor Jaspal Singh would be the chief guest on the occasion. Pargat Singh, director sports, Punjab, would be the special guest on this occasion, where around 300 international-level players, national-level and All-India Inter-University position holders would be awarded.

Swimming tourney on anvil
The Chandigarh Sports Department will organise the Administrator's Cup for Swimming Tournament for sub-junior, junior and senior (boys and girls) at Swimming Pool (Yoga), Sector23 from July 14 to 16. Competitions will be held in Under-8 (cut of date January 1, 2001); Under-10 (1-1-99 to 31-12-2000); Under-12 (1-1-97 to 31-12-1998); Under-14 (1-1-95 to 31-12-96), Under-17 (1-1-92 to 31-12-94) and seniors. Entries must be sent in writing along with date of birth certificate to Jasjit Kaur, and Paramjit Singh, swimming coaches, Swimming Pool, Sector-23 on or before July 13, by 5 pm.
