Karachi, November 12: : Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is doubtful for the first one-day international against West Indies in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday after straining his calf muscle.

Team officials said from Abu Dhabi that Akhtar had picked up the injury during nets and would have a fitness test before the match.

"He is a doubtful starter as he is not in good shape," one official said on Tuesday.

The other two matches in the series are on Nov. 14 and 16.

Akhtar returned to the team last month for a four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Toronto after spending nearly 10 months on the sidelines because of disciplinary issues.
