  • The famous Deol family feud seems to have reached a crescendo here today after Rajpreet Singh Deol alias Raja, the elder son of Canadian NRI Pritam Singh Deol, approached SSP HS Chahal, requesting for an FIR against his father Pritam Singh Deol, younger brother Davinder Singh Deol and two other relatives.

Tehal Singh, Incharge of CIA Jagraon, informed that the SSP, Ludhiana Rural, HS Chahal has initiated an inquiry into the matter.

Notable here is that Deol family is one of the richest families of the area. The entire family resides in Canada with some members having shifted back to Mullanpur in the last few years. While this family has been involved in a major internal property tussle, the trio of father Pritam Singh Deol, who is also a former president of the NRI Sabha, and his two sons were booked for fraud hawala transactions in the year 2005 under five different complaints.

Meanwhile in the latest development, Raja Deol who is dragger drawn with his father, and his younger brother, has in his complaint dated October 15 to the SSP alleged that his father Pritam Singh Deol, an NRI, brother Davinder Singh Deol, an NRI, relatives Jasmail Singh alias Pappa of Rasulpur village, Jagjit Singh of Rasulpur village and Balwinder Singh alias Gandhi of Raqba village along with 10-12 unidentified persons had burnt his standing crops on the night of October 14 and even fired in the air to scare away his labourers.

Interestingly on May 1, Pritam Singh Deol too had moved an application to the police alleging Raja Deol along with Karnail Singh of Tungahedi village near Raikot and some other persons has grabbed his land. After the inquiry of DSP, Dakha, the Dakha police booked Raja Deol and Karnail Singh under Sections 447 and 511 of the IPC and arrested them. Later the police also proceeded against Raja Deol under sections 107/151 of the CrPC to avoid any untoward incident. The case is still pending.
