Off-late supernatural thrillers have seemed to have found an audience. Films like Raaz-TMC,13B,1920 and Phoonk have been money-spinners at the B.O. and hence more and more filmmakers are trying to explore this genre. Percept Picture Company’s latest venture 8×10 Tasveer starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role is also a supernatural thriller with a difference. The film has been directed by maverick director Nagesh Kukunoor and stars Ayesha Takia,Sharmila Tagore,Vinod Khanna and Javed Jaffrey besides Akshay. If the promos of the film are anything to go by,this one seems to be yet another ace up Akki’s sleeve. With 8×10 Tasveer set to release this week,we bring you all that you wanted to know about this film and much more.

8X10 Tasveer is a story about young man named Jai Puri,(Akshay Kumar),who possesses supernatural powers. Jai is of Indian origin who works as a forest ranger in Canada. His life is shattered by a loss of a very important person in his life. This personal tragedy leads him to use his unique supernatural power to unravel the mystery behind the murder. 8×10 is supernatural thriller with a nail biting finish to come up with startling answers.

When it comes to an Akshay Kumar film,there are expectations of a full on ‘masala’ score. However,when the name Nagesh Kukunoor gets attached to the project,you know that soundtrack won’t have a core Akshay Kumar stamp. It will be something different for sure and certainly not the kind where Akshay Kumar will get to let himself loose in a way that he has done in his recent films like Chandni Chowk To China,Singh Is Kinng or Welcome. Add to the project composers like Salim-Sulaiman,Neeraj Sridhar and Bohemia and it certainly makes you curious to play 8X10 Tasveer.

However,8X10 Tasveer has an average soundtrack with Nazaara Hai being the pick of the lot. The two romantic numbers do not go an extra distance though the sole rap song (I Got The Picture) does make for an interesting hear. Still,if one is looking for a hit soundtrack here,then that is not quite in the anvil.

Bollywood had almost faced yet another setback in the form of the stalling of the release date of 8×10 Tasveer. For the uninitiated,the film’s release date had almost got postponed due to bouncing of the cheque of Rs. 6.67 crores,which was issued by Percept Picture to T-Series.

And the good news is that Percept has made good its default and has issued a demand draft for the said amount and T-Series has received the due money. T-Series has now issued letter of clarification to the laboratory and withdrawn its letter written to them earlier asking them to stop delivery of the prints of the film to Percept. However,the music rights and the home video rights of 8×10 Tasveer shall remain with T-Series.
