Allahabad HC plans to acquire nearby land for better security

If acquired,these plots,measuring nearly six acres,will also help in providing various facilities,including parking space.

In the wake of the Delhi High Court blast,the officials of the Allahabad High Court are considering a proposal to acquire two plots,adjacent to the court complex,to create a secure and compact high court zone. If acquired,these plots,measuring nearly six acres,will also help in providing various facilities,including parking space.

The district administration has been asked to look into the feasibility of acquisition of the two plots,measuring around six acres.

The Registrar General of the High Court,along senior office bearers of Allahabad High Court Bar Association,had on Thursday asked the district administration to give a report on the current status the two plots,which are on nazul land.

One of the two plots,measuring around 4.5 acres,is in front of gate No. 3 of the court. The other is adjacent to gate No.5 and measures a little less than one acre.

“Creating a High Court zone has been our long standing demand. Following the heightened security perception,the officials concerned have decided to expedite the procedure,” said Anil Tiwari,Secretary of High Court Bar Association.
