Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has been referred as an “alpha dog” who made all the decisions in place of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev as he ‘plays Robin’ to Russian strongman’s “Batman” in secret US documents leaked by whistleblower website Wikileaks.
The State Department and US Embassy documents leaked by Julian Assange’s website describe Medvedev as “pale and hesitant”,while Putin has been dubbed the “alpha-dog”.
Medvedev “plays Robin” to Russian strongman Putin “the Batman,” according to the US embassy documents leaked by Wikileaks to the international media.
The Russian magazine ‘Russky Reportyor’ (The Russian Reporter) has already made arrangements with the Wikileaks to publish all documents concerning Russia in its coming issue, with full Russian translation.
No comments were available from the Kremlin, while Putin’s spokesperson,Dmitry Peskov, declined to comment, saying he had not read the original documents.
However, despite Putin’s authoritarian image, there were also suggestions in the documents that the former KGB man was finding it tough to prevent his decisions getting bogged down in Russia’s notorious bureaucracy.
The WikiLeaks began rolling out classified diplomatic cables running into more than 250,000 documents — that brought to the fore for the first time some of the top secrets of the US.
The whistleblower website christened this as “Cablegate”.
The cables, which date from 1966 up until the end of February this year, contain confidential communications between 274 embassies in countries throughout the world and the State Department in Washington.
Over the last few days, the US administration has been warning governments around the world about the leaks that may cause embarrassment.
