Here's a peek into the reality of TV shows. "Yes, there is a script. A situation is conceived before the shooting begins, though the reactions are spontaneous," says Salman Khan, winner of the first season of Dance India Dance on Zee TV.
The crown—thanks to millions of sms votes from across the country — did not take him places but sure got him enough work.
“I am in Lucknow to audition 4,000 entries for season 2 of the show,” says the 22-year-old Bangalore native, who got to groove on the bigscreen in Wanted, the latest hit film of his superstar namesake.
“As much as I respect the individual style of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, my personal favourite is Hrithik Roshan, whom I consider a complete performer,” he said, adding that he has not received as yet any offer that excited him to enter a contract.
“I believe in being prepared thoroughly before performing,” says the nimble-foot dancer, who is getting groomed in Satyajit Dube’s acting classes.
The auditions in Lucknow will be held on Wednesday, October 14, at Central Academy, Indira Nagar and till then Salman plans to absorb as much of the best the city offers as he can.
“A performer has to go through the grind working upto 16 hours a day, so besides talent, aspirants must have the stamina and the determination to keep ticking in all circumstances,” he advises the starry-eyed hoping for a place in the limelight, assuring that even 10-minutes of fame could take you places.
