Amandeep’s brace sets up Lyalpur Khalsa win

  • Propelled by a brace by Amandeep Singh, Lyalpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar scored a 3-0 win over SS High School, Khunti in a phase second match in the 38th ATS Junior Nehru Hockey Tournament being played at Sports Complex, Sector 42 on Monday.

    Amandeep Singh opened the account for the Jalandhar team as he converted a penalty corner in the 30th minute of the match. Singh then scored another goal in the 43rd minute by converting a penalty corner before Kuldeep Singh scored the third goal for the Jalandhar team to set up the 3-0 win.

    In another match of the day, Government Model High School, Sector 40, Chandigarh scored an emphatic 14-0 win over Union Academy Senior Secondary School, New Delhi. Gagandeep Senior was the star of the day for the Chandigarh team as he scored five goals. Gurjinder Singh scored the opening goal for the Chandigarh team as he converted a penalty corner in the fourth minute of the match before Gagandeep Senior scored his first goal of the match in the eighth minute of the match. Gagandeep Senior scored another goal in the 11th minute of the match before scoring his third goal of the match in the 14th minute. Sehajpreet Singh scored the fifth goal for the Chandigarh team in the 22nd minute of the match before Gagandeep Senior scored his fourth goal of the match in the 37th minute of the match. Gurjant Singh scored the seventh goal for the Chandigarh team in the 52nd minute before Kanwaldeep Singh scored the eighth goal for the Chandigarh team in the 52nd minute. Three minutes later, Gagandeep Singh scored the ninth goal for the Chandigarh team before Gurjinder Singh scored the h goal in the 61st minute. Kanwaldeep Singh scored another goal in the 65th minute before Gagandeep Singh Senior scored his fifth goal in the 66th minute of the match. Gurjant Singh and Sehajpreet Singh scored two more goals in the 67th and 69th minute respectively to hand Chandigarh 14-0 win.
