Reacting on the allegations of former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh that the state government was instigating "political terrorism", Sukhbir Badal, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday refuted the charges and said that the former went berserk and lost mental balance.
"It seems Captain Amarinder Singh has lost his mental balance after his being proved big failures as Good Chief Minister and as Good Husband (due to his affairs with Pak National woman)", Sukhbir told reporters in Jalandhar.
Ruling out that his party was indulged into political vendetta, Sukhbir said that the state government's main emphasizes was on development of the state for which several big infrastructural projects have been initiated.
Derailed economy of Punjab was on its revival, which could be evident from the 40 per cent growth in the revenue collection, which was mere four per cent during congress regime, Sukhbir said adding that Master Plans were being finalized for overall developments of every city of the state.
Asked about the adverse impact of the ensuing global economic recession on the state's economy, Faridkot MP said that as the Punjab was having agro-based economy, the state would face less adverse impact of the global economic recession as compared to other states.
He revealed that in the upcoming industrial policy of the state, special emphasis would be given on all industrial components including Information & Technology, Agro-based industry and other Small, Medium and Large industries.
Regarding forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Sukhbir said that due to prevailing circumstances, it seems that parliamentary elections would be held not before April and SAD would soon release list of if other candidates for the LS poll.
