An ambulance owner and driver were murdered and their bodies left in the vehicle which was abandoned in Sector 10A, Gurgaon, on Friday morning.
According to police, Vijendra (44) and Rajendra (31), both residents of Feroj Gandhi colony in old Gurgaon, were found dead in the ambulance, which was left in front of the Euro International School in Sector 10A. Vijendra, police said, was the owner of the ambulance.
"The two appeared to have been killed using a blunt object. Prima facie, it looks the two men were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped in the ambulance," a police officer said.
Police said a guard of Euro International School saw someone parking the ambulance in front of the gate around 4 am. He reportedly told police that the man parked the vehicle and walked away.
"The guard could not see his face as it was dark. He thought that the other two inside the van were asleep," the officer said. When daylight broke, passersby saw the bodies and alerted police.
"The post-mortem examinations have been conducted. There were multiple wounds on the bodies, indicating that they were killed using a blunt weapon," ACP (City) Narendra Kadiyan said.
Police said they were also checking the call details of the victims' mobile phones to find out who the two men last spoke to.
Vijendra's relatives told police that he got a call from the driver on Thursday night . They said the driver asked Vijendra to meet him. Vijendra left home after the call.
A case of murder has been registered and investigations are underway.
