The net worth of two of the richest Americans has slid this year even though there is a shuffling in their ranks. Bill Gates has regained the first position from Warren Buffet in the latest list of the 400 richest Americans compiled by business magazine Forbes.

1. Bill Gates Software czar Net worth: $57 billion In 2007: $59 billion Change: -$2 billion

2. Warren Buffet Maverick investor Net worth: $50 billion In 2007: $62 billion Change: -$12 billion

3. Larry Ellison $27 billion

4. Jim Walton $23.4 billion

5. S Robson Waltton $23.3 billion

6. Alice Walton $23.2 billion

7. Cristy Walton and family $23.2 billion

8. Michael Bloomberg $20 billion

9. Charles Koch $19 billion

10. David Koch $19 billion

Richest Indians:

281st K R ShriramTechnology entrepreneur $1.7 bn

321st Amar bose Acoustics pioneer $1.5 bn

Bose and Shriram were ranked 271st last year with net worth of $1.8 bn each. Desai and Khosla have slipped from 286th and 317th ranks with net worth of $1.7 bn and $1.5 bn respectively
