Noida: A student of Amity University went missing here last night. BTech student Pawan Pandey (19) had gone to withdraw money from an ATM in the evening and did not return. A resident of Chattisgarh, Pandey was living in Noida’s Chalera village with his two friends.

His cousin Samir Upadhayay, an MBA student living in Faridabad, said, “He had gone to withdraw money, saying he would not get time once the examinations start. When he did not return, his friends contacted us and we lodged compliant in Sector 39 and Sector 20 police stations.” Pandey’s exams start from Monday.

Upadhayay added there are no reasons for him going somewhere deliberately. “He is not an outgoing person; he was not depressed. He comes home early and spends most of his time studying. His friends know him as a hardworking boy. We just hope any untoward incident may not have happened,” he said.

According to the police, Pandey withdrew Rs 5,000 from the SBI ATM of Sector 18. “No other details have emerged so far; we are investigating the matter,” said Vijay Singh, Station House Officer of Sector 20 police station.
